Armando’s life completely changed in the summer of 2019 when his wife passed away. Sadly, this tragedy created a great deal of strain between Armando and his children. Armando became homeless when he was 77. He had nowhere to go.
He has been able to “stay-at-home” with his Mission family who has ensured that Armando has remained in good health throughout the pandemic. “I know that the donors take care of us. They provide for anything I need,” Armando continues with quiet tears, “I want people to know I believe in God, and I have a big heart.”
Less than two weeks after his baptism, little did he know that he would be fighting for his physical life. On March 19th, Stephen’s world changed when he went to the hospital ER, and after a week’s stay, was diagnosed with COVID-19.“I have a strong testimony of what God can do. Jesus gives you all hope. I knew I would make it through. God gave me a clear picture that I was going to go on, and God has made me whole. God is a miracle worker.”
In addition to meeting basic life needs for men, the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission enables those men who are committed to a positive life change to address their problems through a 12-month transitional housing program
